Are there parking opportunities at RuhrCongress Bochum?

Visitors of our events may use our inhouse underground parking spaces. The access can be found at the end of Küpperstraße, on the left-hand side. Also, public parking spaces can be found alongside Stadionring. The parking lot at “Starlight Express” musical theater is also open to the public.

How much are the parking fees?

Visitors of our inhouse underground car park pay EUR 5.00 up to 12 hours and EUR 12.00  for a whole day (up from 12 hours).

Are there special parking spaces for visitors with disabilities?

Handicapped accessible parking spaces are available at the back of RuhrCongress Bochum.

Is there special admission for visitors with disabilities?

To provide a stress- and barrierfree access to our events, we grant pre-access at a separate entrance to all our public events.

Is there handicapped accessible seating at the events?

In principle, a sufficient number of seats for wheelchair occupants and accompanying persons are available for all public events. In case of events with free seating, a sufficient number of parquet flooring is reserved. In case of unseated events, a platform with a ramp ensures an unrestricted view on the evening of the event in our establishment. In case of numbered seats, detailed information can be found via the booking systems as well as at all associated advance booking offices.

If the event is taking place at the top floor of our establishment, an elevator is available to grant barrier-free access.

Are there handicapped accessible toilets at RuhrCongress Bochum?

Yes, on the ground floor as well as the top floor of our establishment, there are respective toilets with barrier-free access.

Are underaged persons allowed to attend public events without the company of a legal guardian?

In principle, adolescents under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parents or legal guardians may authorize other persons with the supervision, provided these persons are 18 years or above. Here you will find a respective form of delegation of an authorized person.

May I bring pets to an event at RuhrCongress Bochum?

No, animals are not permitted in our facilities, apart from guiding dogs.

Is there a cloak desk and how much does it cost?

A cloak desk is located in the foyer, directly opposite of the entrance. The price per garment is EUR 1.50.

Where can I purchase tickets and when does the advanced booking start?

Tickets for our events are generally available at all associated advance booking offices. The starting date of the advanced booking is determined by the particular event organizer. As soon as the advanced booking is available, you will find a note on our website. In case of an event being booked up, you will also find this information on our website as promptly as possible.

What happens, if an event is cancelled? Can I return my ticket and get my money back?

In case of an event being cancelled or delayed to another date, you will find this information on our website. Generally, in case of a delay, the tickets keep their validity. If you are not able to attend the new date or in the case that the event is cancelled completely, you may return your tickets to the particular advance booking office, where you purchased them in the first place.

We recommend you to consult our website directly prior to the event, to avoid any bad surprises.

Can I purchase drinks and snacks prior, during and after the event?

Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks as well as beer, wine and sparkling wine are available at our bars in the foyer at RuhrCongress Bochum prior and during public events. For a proper meal we recommend you visit one of the hotels and various restaurants in the direct vicinity and close city center of Bochum (about 2 km).

When does the admission to the events generally start?

Generally, admission is granted 30 to 60 minutes prior to the start of the event. This information may vary. Therefore, please take into account the respective notification on your printed ticket or in our online event calendar.

Is smoking allowed at Ruhr Congress Bochum?

No, smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor areas at RuhrCongress Bochum. This also applies to e-cigarettes. Guests who wish to smoke will, depending on the parameters set by the particular event organizer, be given outdoor alternatives. With the so called “smoking pass” (“Raucherkärtchen”), you will be granted easy access back inside the facility, after your short break.

Are there any items I’m not allowed to bring inside and will there be surveillances at the entrance?

Yes, at the entrance to an event, security personnel will check handbags and backpacks. Please refrain from carrying along  big backpacks and handbags (max. DIN-A4-format) bigger bags have to be handed in at the cloakroom. In principle, it is NOT allowed to carry glassware (bottles, glasses etc.), cans, weapons including "protective weapons", fireworks and other hazardous items with you. Other non-admissible items may be decided within the rules of the particular event.

May I bring a video or photo camera to an event?

No, the entrainment of recording tools such as video and photo cameras, which could disturb the process of the event is generally not permitted by the event organizer.

Is the RuhrCongress Bochum located within a low-emission zone?

Yes, the low-emission zone directly starts at the autobahn exit and comprises the whole city center. The way from the autobahn exit to the RuhrCongress Bochum is therefore only accessible with a green emission sticker.

When does the last bus / tram leave from RuhrCongress Bochum in direction of the main station?

On weekdays, the tram lines 308 and 318 leave at VONOVIA Ruhrstadion (about a 5 minute walk from RuhrCongress Bochum) in direction of Bochum main station approximately every 10 minutes until 9 p.m. (journey time about 5 minutes); afterwards approximately every 20 to 30 minutes. The last direct connection is with tram line 308 at 12:51 a.m. On Saturdays the last tram of line 318 leaves at 12:54 a.m. On Sundays and public holidays the last connection of line 308 leaves at 12:51 a.m.
