Sometimes the RuhrCongress serves as a stage for rock, pop and jazz concerts, sometimes as a dance floor for dancing tournaments, and then again as a live arena for comedians and cabaret artists, or as a venue for visitor and trade fairs, large congresses and conferences. In 2001, RuhrCongress Bochum is built on the site of the former Ruhrlandhalle, which was built in 1964, as a new congress and event center that meets all the technical and conceptual requirements of a modern venue, giving Bochum an entirely new face.
In January 2003, Bochum welcomes the world. RuhrCongress Bochum thrilled its guests for the very first time within the framework of its atmospheric grand opening celebration. And the venue has not lost any of its appeal from the early days. Quite the contrary: Every day, the acoustics and atmosphere of the venue astound visitors anew. Its service and atmosphere, festivity and flair create resonance far beyond the borders of the Ruhr area. RuhrCongress Bochum, a magnet for visitors from the first time.
